Carriera is proud to partner with a leading housing consultancy that is seeking a Junior Principal Designer/CDM Advisor to join their team in Birmingham. Our client offers a wide range of services, including project management, cost consultancy, and client-side programme and development management, with a deep expertise in public sector housing.
Role Overview:
As a Junior CDM Advisor, you will support the Principal Designer in fulfilling duties as outlined in the Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations 2015. You will work closely with Housing Association and Local Authority clients, delivering Principal Designer services for residential properties, including high-rise buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and manage design-related risks.
- Obtain and compile the Pre-Construction Information Pack.
- Communicate effectively with contractors, designers, and clients through Design Team Meetings and Risk Workshops.
- Review and monitor designers' compliance with CDM regulations.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage the pre-construction phase of projects.
- Ensure designers adhere to CDM requirements.
- Provide essential information to contractors to manage health and safety throughout the construction phase.
- Conduct interim Health & Safety inspections and review site records.
- Review Contractor's Construction Phase Health & Safety Plan.
- Update, review, and deliver the Health & Safety File to the client.
About You:
- Basic understanding of CDM Regulations.
- Knowledge of implementing Health & Safety procedures and guidelines.
- General understanding of Health & Safety within the construction industry.
- Working towards TechIOSH/APS Membership.
- Pursuing a professional qualification in designing, building surveying, or building services.
- Commitment to continual professional development (CPD).
- NEBOSH National Certificate in Construction Health & Safety is preferred.
