A well-established civil contractor is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Administrator & Buyer to join their growing team in South Birmingham. This role combines procurement and administrative duties, making it ideal for someone organized, who can handle multiple tasks and support project efficiency.
Location:South Birmingham
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Salary: 27,000 - 30,000 per annum
Responsibilities:
Buying Duties:
- Process material requisition sheets from project sites to ensure timely procurement.
- Obtain 2-3 quotes per order to maintain cost-effectiveness.
- Place orders accurately using Xero software, ensuring seamless purchase tracking.
- Match invoices with receipts to streamline accounting processes.
- Use Xero receipting to ensure accurate financial record-keeping.
Administrative Duties:
- Arrange accommodation bookings for site staff, ensuring logistical needs are met.
- Verify timesheets and mileage claims, preparing them for payroll submission.
- Provide administrative support to Commercial & Operations Managers, assisting with documentation and reporting.
- Take and prepare minutes during meetings to capture key actions and decisions.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in procurement or administration, preferably within the construction or civil engineering industry.
- Strong familiarity with Xero or similar software.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently with high attention to detail.
