We're looking for a Senior Flood Risk Engineer, or a Flood Risk Engineer in Birmingham!

Due to growth, a leading SME in Birmingham is keen to welcome a new Flood Risk Engineer to the team, at either Engineer or Senior level.

Flood Risk Engineer - Key Technical Responsibilities

  • Write Flood Risk Assessment reports for strategic development schemes in Flood Zones 1, 2 & 3.
  • Create surface water drainage strategies for proposed development sites, incorporating SuDS, either as part of an FRA or standalone.
  • River/Flood Modelling (1D, 2D and 1D-2D) to determine mitigation and suggest improvement schemes.

Flood Risk Engineer - Key Technical Requirements

  • Educated to a minimum standard of Degree (in Civil engineering, Geography or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of current legislation, drainage design standards and good practice, including Sewers for Adoption, FEH, F&WMA, NHBC Standards, CIRIA 753 (SUDS Manual), NPPF, etc.
  • Proficient in the use of MicroDrainage and flood modelling software packages such as XP Storm, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW or Flood Modeller.
