Principal Drainage Engineer

As a Principal Drainage Engineer, you will work on major highways projects across the UK and internationally. Our clients Highways Central team is thriving and expanding, collaborating across multiple offices to deliver high-profile projects for a range of clients. This dynamic and supportive environment offers exciting opportunities for professional growth and development. This role requires you to be based in our clients Birmingham office 2-3 days per week.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
·Lead the design and development of drainage systems for major highways projects.
·Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate drainage designs with other project components.
·Provide technical guidance and mentor team members to support project delivery and professional development.
·Plan and manage work activities to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
·Engage with stakeholders and clients throughout the design process to secure necessary certifications and approvals.
 
About You
 
·Extensive experience in designing drainage systems for highways projects in the UK and internationally.
·Proficient in relevant standards and software, including DMRB, MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, and Civil 3D.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in preparing technical documents and reports.
·Proven ability to lead and manage diverse teams and project components.
·Degree in Civil Engineering and professional accreditation as a Chartered or Incorporated Engineer (or equivalent).
