Our client in the Birmingham area is looking for a new Project Engineer for their fun and vibrant team due to continued business growth!

Role & Responsibilities

  • Identify, develop, implement, and manage modifications to current plant/manufacturing equipment and processes.
  • Conduct structured reviews to identify opportunities for improving production output, product quality, and equipment reliability.
  • Manage projects, including tracking timescales and budgets, comparing planned versus actual outcomes.
  • Collaborate with production and support services to identify equipment requirements and manage tenders for new equipment, taking these through to installation and commissioning.
  • Coordinate and manage contractors involved in projects or tasks.
  • Ensure that plant is designed, installed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with contract conditions, maintaining appropriate records throughout.
  • Prepare reports for monthly executive/board meetings, providing updates on current project progress and new proposals.

Requirements

  • Ideally, hold a degree in Engineering or a relevant field.
  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer in an engineering industry.
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D design software, preferably AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Project or equivalent project tracking software.
  • Ability to work effectively on multidisciplinary projects.
  • Adaptability to tackle unforeseen challenges and new technologies.
  • Basic understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
