Overview:

This tier one contractor is looking for a permanent section engineer with experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures or drainage. This section engineer will be working on a major infrastructure project.

About You:

  • Experience writing and preparing risk assessments and method statements
  • Able to programme works up to 3 week look ahead
  • Manage and mentor a team of site engineers and graduate engineers
  • High focus on quality assurance in previous roles
  • Experience with Fit Out and interface with MEP
  • Working closely with the section Sub agent ensuring programme is valid
  • HNC/Degree (Construction/Civil Engineering related) or equivalent and working towards institute membership (ICE)
  • Demonstration of knowledge and practical application of Site Engineering activities combined with construction supervision skills.
  • Experience in utilities, earthworks, heavy structures or drainage is essential for this role
  • Must have own transport to be able to attend site(s) in remote areas
  • Full driving license required
  • You must hold the following competencies: SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS White, White-Yellow, Red - Experienced, Black - Manager or Gold - Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Sub Agent and supervise the site engineering team from construction to closeout.
  • Assist with temporary works design and liaise with Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labor, plant, and materials.
  • Manage the site setting-out team and oversee performance and development of Site Engineers.
  • Identify and resolve technical problems in collaboration with the Sub Agent.
  • Monitor and coordinate subcontractors to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Ensure the team has up-to-date information and resources for their tasks.
  • Assist in producing programs, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting.
