A renowned multi-disciplinary consultancy with over 1000 employees and 11 offices across the UK is seeking an experienced Principal Designer to join their team.
This consultancy is at the forefront of the industry, delivering high-quality projects across various sectors including commercial, residential, and public sectors. The successful Principal Designer will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act 2022, providing expert guidance and managing design risks.
Responsibilities of the Principal Designer:
- Lead the implementation and compliance of the Building Safety Act 2022 within projects.
- Advise clients on their duties under the Building Safety Act and CDM 2015.
- Manage and mitigate design risks, ensuring safety at all stages of the project.
- Oversee the development of pre-construction information and construction phase plans.
- Conduct health and safety audits and inspections.
- Facilitate design review meetings and workshops to ensure risk management is prioritised.
Requirements for the Principal Designer:
- Degree in Construction, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- In-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act 2022 and CDM regulations.
- Membership with IOSH or APS.
- Extensive experience in delivering Principal Designer services within a consultancy environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with diverse teams.
