Senior Engineering Geologist / Geotechnical Engineer (Rail)

A Senior Engineering Geologist/ Geotechnical Engineer is required to join an energetic and dynamic team, based at the company headquarters in the Midlands. In the role, you will be responsible for assisting the Principal Engineer and Assistant Project Manager in the delivery of technical reports, while having an involvement in the development of the business. While in this position, you will be trained to be an earthworks examiner in the rail industry, while gaining experience in asset inspections. Throughout the role, you will be trained on the approvals of asset inspections and will undertake these as part of your duties. You will also participate in the development and implementation of training for asset examiners, while monitoring their technical output.

A successful candidate will ideally have a BSc / BEng/ MSc in either Geology, Engineering Geology or Civil Engineering, with an interest in slope stability and maintaining geological assets. You will need to be Chartered / nearly Chartered with either The Geological Society or ICE. It would be preferable for the candidate to have 5+ years of experience in a geotechnical engineering role or related occupation. Prior experience in the rail industry is preferred but not essential, with this including the undertaking of slope stability assessments and/or asset inspections.
