We are searching for a Site Engineer for a prestigious new mixed use residential scheme in Birmingham. Once built this scheme will bring over 1000 new homes, commercial space and local amenities to the area. The project is due to commence in the next few months and has a 3 year programme.

As Site Engineer, you will:

  • Interpret project plans and drawings, ensuring accurate setting out of structures, levels, and boundaries on site in line with design specifications.
  • Use surveying equipment (e.g., total stations, GPS) to establish precise reference points, grids, and markers to guide construction teams.
  • Coordinate with the design and project management teams to clarify technical details and resolve discrepancies or design issues on-site.
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of construction works, ensuring they align with the planned layout, dimensions, and levels.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and quality standards, while identifying potential issues early.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed site reports, records of progress, and any adjustments made to the original design.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, site managers, and other engineers to ensure smooth workflow and adherence to project timelines.
  • Assist in the coordination of materials and equipment delivery to maintain efficient construction progress and reduce delays.
  • Manage and assess risks related to site activities, ensuring that any necessary corrections are made promptly to avoid costly reworks.
  • Provide technical support to construction teams, offering guidance on construction techniques, materials, and best practices.

Required:

  • 5 + Years Site Engineering experience, preferably with a mix of subcontractors and main contractors.
  • Strong knowledge of EDM systems, particularly Leica TS16.
  • Experience on CAM/BIM software.
  • Residential project experience would be beneficial but new build commercial would also suit.
