Responsibilities:

CFA Piling Execution and Oversight:

* Oversee the execution of CFA piling works, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.* Supervise the installation of CFA piles, including drilling, rebar cage placement, and concrete pours, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry best practices.* Work closely with the piling contractor and other subcontractors to ensure seamless integration of piling operations into the overall project.

Technical Expertise:

* Possess a thorough understanding of CFA piling techniques, including different drilling methods, rebar cage design, concrete placement, and quality control procedures.* Review and interpret construction drawings and specifications related to CFA piling operations.* Provide technical guidance and support to the piling crew, ensuring accurate and efficient execution.

Quality Assurance:

* Implement and maintain robust quality control measures for CFA piling works, conducting regular inspections and documenting findings.* Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, project specifications, and HS2 quality requirements.

Health and Safety:

* Promote a safe and healthy work environment on site, recognising the specific hazards associated with CFA piling operations.* Implement and enforce strict safety procedures and protocols, ensuring the well-being of all personnel.* Maintain accurate records and reporting on safety performance.

Collaboration and Communication:

* Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, piling contractors, and other stakeholders.* Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, ensuring clear and concise information exchange.

Problem-Solving and Innovation:

* Identify and resolve technical challenges on site related to CFA piling operations, ensuring efficient solutions that maintain project progress and quality.Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience as a Site Engineer on major infrastructure projects, specifically focused on CFA piling operations.
  • Proven expertise in all aspects of CFA piling, including drilling, rebar cage installation, and concrete placement.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, including BS EN 1536, and HS2 specifications.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings and specifications related to CFA piling.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to safety and quality standards, especially within the context of a high-profile project like HS2.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a demanding environment.
  • Valid driver's license.
