Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) - (Java/Sybase/DB2/Unix)
Our major digital IT services client is looking for an experienced SRE with both solid java and database knowledge to to work for one of their global investment bank customer's.
Key Duties
- Incident, problem management and change management
- Identify application stability improvements and performance or operational workflow efficiency
- Identify and implement incident follow ups to improve alerting and reduce impact and duration
- Ensure business continuity and improve production stability
- Effectively communicate with all stakeholders for any production incidents or changes
Essential Skills
- Ability to troubleshoot issues, identify the underlying problem and possible subsequent impact
- Experience in SDLC and configuration management
- Capacity management - analyse current metrics, determine trends and identify bottlenecks
- Ability to work on multiples tasks in parallel
- Problem solving in a production environment, including experience in identifying patterns, analysing root cause and proposing solutions to resolve issues
- Excellent communication skills with ability to articulate the technical and functional aspects of a production problem
- Experience in database technologies (Sybase/DB2)
- Experience in JAVA and UNIX
