Reed Construction are excited to announce a fantastic job opportunity for an ambitious Building Surveyor to join the rapidly expanding department of a well established consultancy in Birmingham known who their reputation of quality training and knowledge

About You:

  • You have at least 2-3 years of post-degree experience.
  • You are working towards final assessment with the RICS or have just sat your APC.
  • You can evidence a working knowledge of a range of building surveying services, for example dilapidations, party wall, defect analysis and wider building services.
  • You are able to work independently, have a strong team spirit, and a positive attitude to service delivery.

Key Skills:

  • Experience or understanding in delivering core building surveying services such as Contract Administration, Dilapidations, Party Wall, Landlord and Tenant, Defect Analysis and Rectification, Developing a Client Brief, Project delivery, JCT Contract Administration (Minor and IF), Technical Compliance (Planning & Building Regulations), Specification writing, Producing schedules of work.
  • Awareness of the Design (Experience of using AutoCAD), NEC Contracts (Option C), Project Cost Control.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, good writing and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to present a professional image, especially when client-facing, and demonstrate a confident persona.
  • Full UK driving licence, access to own vehicle, and willingness to travel for work.

What Is On Offer:

  • Competitive salary of £45-55K per annum (depending on experience)
  • If current salary is above this range but you are interested in the role, then a conversation can be discussed

  • Provision of a car allowance will be considered.

The ideal candidate:

  • 2-3 years Building Surveying experience
  • Have experience of working on varied projects across the spectrum of building surveying services
  • An understanding of the CDM regulations 2015.
  • Ability to effectively cooperate and deal with a wide range of internal and external relationships.
  • An excellent communicator who is both approachable and a good listener; also, diplomatic & assertive.
  • Proactive, professional, and personable.
