Building Surveyor - BirminghamSalary: £43,889 per annumPermanent, Full Time (37 hours per week)A leading housing association organisation is seeking experienced Building Surveyors to join its Asset Team to drive forward it's continuous improvement programme. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic team operating across the Midlands region.You will report to Project Managers and working within a customer-focused team. The role requires end-to-end project management skills, commercial awareness, and experience working in the housing sector.Key Responsibilities:
  • Overseeing major works and investment programmes, ensuring strong customer engagement and meeting key performance targets.
  • Handling disrepair cases on an individual basis, ensuring effective resolution.
  • Taking a structured approach to identifying and resolving complex building defects and insurance claims across different property types.
Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a similar role, working within a diverse team and providing a range of technical services.
  • A recognised qualification in a building-related discipline, ideally MRICS, or equivalent experience and expertise.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulations and contractual obligations within the housing sector.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to develop effective relationships both internally and with customers.
  • Experience managing budgets, with strong analytical skills and the ability to make sound professional judgements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
  • Experience in procuring and delivering major works programmes, including contract and project management, stakeholder engagement, and tracking customer satisfaction.
  • Familiarity with updating asset management systems, housing management systems, and GIS.
