WRG is supporting a leading passive fire protection contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager to oversee their construction projects across the West Midlands.

Our client ensures the integrity of buildings and the safety of occupants through high-quality, compliant, and innovative fire prevention measures. They are dedicated to excellence and are seeking a passionate construction professional with the same ethos to join their team.

They oversee a range of projects across the built environment including; residential, commercial, healthcare, industrial, student accommodation and education schemes. Typically delivering passive fire protection surveys, penetration sealing, cavity barriers, fire door surveys and installations, and maintenance/ remediation.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire protection, outstanding project management skills, and a commitment to safety and compliance. This role is pivotal in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of passive fire protection projects.
  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to meet project requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with industry standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits/inspections to assess progress and quality.
  • Prepare and present project reports and updates to stakeholders.
  • Oversee procurement of materials.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to project teams.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Projects Manager in the fire protection industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of passive fire protection systems (experience with fire doors is advantageous).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, including Office 365.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications such as NVQ6, IFE Level 3 (2), and SMSTS are desirable.
