My client, a building consultancy services business, is currently seeking a Senior Building Inspector. They are a forward-thinking organisation, committed to excellence, customer satisfaction, and regulatory compliance in the built environment.

Presently they are seeking Building Inspectors at various levels to join the business in a permanent role.

As a Senior Building Inspector, you will play a key role in delivering expert advice and ensuring compliance with building regulations and allied legislation. You will work closely with clients, developers, and stakeholders to provide a high-quality building control service, ensuring safety, sustainability, and efficiency in construction projects.

Senior Building Inspector Responsibilities:

  • Implement and enforce building regulations and related legislation.
  • Deliver a comprehensive building control service, including plan assessments and on-site inspections.
  • Provide expert advice to clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including health and safety.
  • Support the business in retaining and expanding its customer base.
  • Represent the business at industry events, networking opportunities, and professional meetings.
  • Lead and support new business initiatives, marketing campaigns, and service improvements.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of high-performing, customer-focused services.

Senior Building Inspector Requirements:

  • Proven track record as a Building Control Surveyor, handling diverse building types and projects.
  • Strong understanding of Building Regulations, construction methods, and compliance enforcement.
  • Ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Solutions-driven approach to advising and resolving compliance issues.
  • Relevant degree, BTEC Higher in Building, NVQ Level 5 in Building Control and Management, or equivalent.
  • Associate membership with RICS, CIOB, or CABE (or working towards it).
