Senior Fire Risk Assessorrequired by a built environment consultancy to join their team at their Birmingham office. The role will include predominantly regional travel, with some wider travel and offers hybrid working arrangements.
As a Fire Risk Assessor, you will be responsible for conducting site-based fire risk assessments within a variety of sectors, including commercial, industrial and residential.
Role:
Your Senior Fire Risk Assessor duties include:
Maintaining regular communication with the Client's team to coordinate inspection and remedial work programs.
Ensuring all buildings comply with current fire safety regulations and technical standards.
Conducting on-site assessments, preparing detailed schedules of necessary works, overseeing project progress and ensuring compliance with specifications.
Applying a practical and systematic approach to problem-solving, adhering to strict budgets and tight deadlines.
Providing expert advice on fire safety aspects related to Building Regulations Approval applications.
Reviewing, approving and signing off Fire Risk Assessments prior to submission to clients.
Conducting annual internal audits on Fire Risk Assessors.
Experience
Experienced Fire Risk Assessor who has been carrying out work either on a consultancy or in-house basis.
Or an experienced ex-fire and rescue service inspecting officer with experience in auditing premises under the Fire Safety Order.
Experience as a Validator under BAFE SP205-1.
Experience of carrying out fire risk assessments in a range of premises.
Qualifications
Minimum Level 4 qualification in fire risk management, or a Level 5 qualification in fire risk assessment or fire engineering.
IFE-approved fire risk assessment course completion.
Listed on the national register of Fire Risk Assessors through IFE, FRACS, or IFSM (with a minimum requirement of Tier 3 registration on the IFSM register).
