Customer Engagement Advisor

Onsite in Birmingham City Centre 

£26,000 - £30,000 + 20% Bonus OTE

Job Summary

This is an exciting time for Babington as we evolve our Customer Engagement strategy and structure to ensure we’re in the best shape for the future.

You’ll work closely with your Customer Engagement team, to support business development activity and focus on lead generation alongside administration and reporting support across the squad. You will be responsible for developing Babington's existing relationships and identifying, engaging and converting leads into fully committed apprenticeship starts, via our apprenticeship levy transfer programme or with new customers to ensure our continued growth.

As such you’ll have previous exposure and experience of B2B sales, generating leads, prospecting and utilising consultative selling approaches to build relationships and understanding your clients needs aligned to one of our 4 market verticals:  Consumer Services / Professional Services / Public Sector / Tech Media and Telco.

Required Competencies and Responsibilities

Customer Relationship Building:

  • You will be You will be confident building rapport and liaising with customers, employers and internal teams and you will be expected to educate customers on the benefits of apprenticeships and how the apprenticeship levy works.
  • You will understand and be able to operate with a consultative selling approach, having the ability to understand clients’ needs and offer tailored solutions.

Business Development:

  • You will be one of the main points of contact and operate as a knowledgeable advisor to employers, supporting them to maximise levy opportunities which supports the development of their workforce.
  • You will be responsible for the Customer Engagement data analytics, so historic experience working with a manipulating data and producing reports would be advantageous as you will be analysing performance metrics and monitoring the broader pipeline health across the entire team.

Sales & Negotiation Skills:

  • You will work collaboratively within the team and generate leads and pipeline opportunities through B2B sales and prospecting activity with dormant or new customers.
  • You will be responsible for managing leads, tracking interactions and demonstrate experience working in a target driven environment by hitting and exceeding targets consistently.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrable experience of consistently meeting or exceeding targets & KPI's.
  • Minimum of 6-12 months’ proven experience in business development, sales, lead generation or prospecting.
  • Minimum of 6-12 months’ working within or utilising consultative selling approach, having the ability to understand clients’ needs and offer tailored solutions.
  • Minimum of 6-12 months previous experience communicating, establishing, engaging and influencing a wide set of key customer stakeholders.
  • A good understanding of the UK apprenticeship landscape, including funding, standards, and regulatory requirements. You will be able to demonstrate your previous proven experience supporting customers to implement apprenticeships, within one of our 4 vertical markets.
  • Proficient in using a CRM package to record and manage all customer interactions and sales activities.
