Marketplace Manager

(Remote based + travel into Bristol office on occassions)

£40,000 - £45,000 Base + Benefits

My client are a leading brand on the world market, located in Bristol with five divisions in the group offering services to the Garden Retail, Horticulture, Sport, Industrial, and Fencing industries. They are an incredibly fast growing company with an international presence in both India and Dubai.

The Marketplace Manager is responsible for strategy & day to day management across our current marketplaces - Amazon 1P & 3P, eBay, Wayfair and for evaluating and driving growth across other potential marketplaces such as DIY.com, Etsy & The Range.

This is an exciting role for an experienced Marketplace Manager with responsibility for product & marketplace selection, pricing/commercials and promotional strategy. The position carries a refreshing level of autonomy to drive strategy, manage resource and shape the future of our marketplace business.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing strategic plans to drive revenue growth in all marketplaces including seasonality plans.
  • Product selection, pricing and margin targets.
  • Forges relationships both internally and externally to support the business channel.
  • Product and marketplace opportunity analysis with strong data led approach.
  • Keyword research/listing search optimisation - leading on content enhancements.
  • Leverages data and insights to maximise traffic and conversion rates.
  • Partners with 3P vendor to allocate resources against online tactics, delivering superior ROAS and ACOS results.
  • Leverages business analytics to maximise sales and profit performance.
  • Drives forecasting and inventory planning with Operations team and partners.
  • Communicates key information to leadership team including core metrics and strategic business updates.
  • Leads collaboration with internal product team and platform managers to maximise results.
  • Manages the channel for errors, alerts, questions, and inquiries and resolves with a high sense of urgency.
  • Identifies marketplace issues and root causes, making recommendations for improvements.

Core Experience Needed.

  • Significant commercial experience in a multi-marketplace business.
  • Successful track record of growing market share and revenue on marketplaces.
  • Deep knowledge of Amazon algorithms and
  • Experience with P&L - setting pricing & profitability strategies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong focus on driving results.
  • Excellent understanding of commercial strategy and analysis
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams to achieve sales goals.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent organisation skills with attention to detail.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to successfully negotiate, persuade and present sales and product information.
  • Proficient with Excel, Vendor Central, Seller Central and other online marketplace platforms.
