External Sales Representative

We are currently recruiting for an External Sales Representative for our client based in Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to develop strong relationships and maximise the potential of all live accounts, lapsed accounts and develop new accounts.

Pay: This is a straight permanent role with a salary of up to £47,500 depending on experience + a car allowance of £4,000

Working days and shift times: Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:00

Day to Day Duties;

Working as an External Sales Representative for our client your duties will be: 

  • Visit, track and maintain customer base in your assigned territory
  • Provide Best-In-Class customer service in accordance with the objectives of AMS Ltd 
  • Speak with customers in your assigned territories, including, but not limited to and generating sales and profits from assigned customer base
  • Travelling within your sales territory to meet prospects and customers
  • Process customer orders (When required)
  • Provide feedback to Management and Administrative Departments
  • Reactive dormant/lapsed accounts
  • Assist in maintaining A/R integrity with all customers in assigned territory
  • Execute Management strategy for sales development
  • Follow up on all quotation leads
  • Educate customers on company products and services
  • Provide prompt quote response to customers
  • Timely responsiveness to action related e-mails 
  • Provide technical data to customers
  • Generating sales and profits in assigned customer base
  • Participates in departmental and/or other company meetings
  • Resolve sales related credit issues with customer
  • Regular chasing of account debts and communicate with accounts

Essential Skills

  • External sales experience within a metal distribution or similar
  • Willing to travel to other sites
  • Strong mathematical and IT skills
  • GCSE/A-levels or equivalent

Desirable Experience

  • Degree level or equivalent to the industry
  • Knowledge of the aerospace industry
  • Experience using e-Stel
  • Experience with Microsoft CRM
  • Understanding of market pricing
