Our client is a global supplier, with three UK sites and over 300 locations worldwide, offering a wide range of metals, including aluminium, steel, titanium, nickel, alloy, and hi-tech metals.Key Responsibilities:Handle, cut, and identify products according to client-specific working practices, ensuring full compliance with health and safety regulations.Accurately set up and cut materials to maximize stock utilization and minimize waste or damage to products.Record and maintain all relevant data in the computer-based stock control system and other required documentation.Promote continuous improvement in processes to enhance stock productivity and reduce waste.Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to safety practices and policies.Ensure all products are properly handled to prevent damage or health hazards, following Health and Safety guidelines.Ensure full conformance to order requirements and maintain accurate stock and product identification at all times.Maximize stock utilization to achieve the most efficient processing in line with company practices.Assist with machine maintenance as necessary to ensure optimal equipment performance.The Ideal Candidate Will Have:Previous experience in a similar role within the metals or manufacturing industry.Knowledge of raw materials and cutting requirements for various metal products.Ability to read cutting patterns to maximize stock usage and minimize waste.Experience in machine programming, set-up, and preparation for cutting operations.A strong understanding of materials handling, especially in relation to health and safety standards.Basic PC literacy for recording and processing stock information.Willingness to be trained and become a business-approved stamp holder.Solid understanding of Health and Safety legislation and its practical application on the job.Familiarity with quality processes for handling materials.Valid counterbalance forklift license.Machine maintenance skills relevant to the saw equipment in use.Knowledge of continuous improvement practices.Benefits:Free on-site parkingOpportunity for permanent employment after a successful 3-month probation periodTo Apply:This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing company.
