The Job CNC Programmer/ Setter

The Programmer/Setter role is office based to support the company's manufacturing processes are safe for employees to use. Capable of meeting or exceeding the expected standard labour time and are designed to produce right first- time production. Working in collaboration with the Production Management team the Programmer/Setter should ensure manufacturing processes are well defined and adequately resourced with appropriate work instructions, tooling, jigs and other assembly aids.Tasks will be made up of the following disciplines: - Part routing part costing (labour), work instructions, production tooling and jigs, machine programming & maintenance, problem solving, process improvement, collaborating with development on new product development and introduction as well as generating build reports to identify further opportunities for improvement.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Programming/ Setting Fanuc CNC Miller & Turning machinery

Performing offline programming duties

Working to precise tolerances

Communicating with the team to ensure smooth processes and highlighting routes to ensure that components are machined to high standard

Working from Engineering drawings and specifications

To support the Production department enabling the company's products to be manufactured on time, right first time and at the lowest practical cost in line with customer demand.

To ensure plant and resources are adequately maintained (TPM) to increase their longevity and to support the Production plan.

To help maintain a safe and productive environment for all departmental staff.

Adoption of lean philosophies throughout the production engineering department where continuous improvement is at the heart of what we do.

To innovate and adopt a continuous improvement approach to manufacturing processes.

Provide process documentation and operating instructions.

To generate CNC programmes using Solid Works and Solid CAM.

Skills / experience:

At least 3-5 years production engineering experience in a low to medium volume, production environment.

Previous CNC turning and milling experience.

Previous programming experience Fanuc systems.

Computer literate in Microsoft products.

Experienced in using Solid Works and Solid CAM preferred.

Ability to read, interpret and create technical specifications and drawings.

Working Hours

Monday to Thursday 7.30am - 4.45pm and Friday's 7.30am - 11.30am (39 hours) on-site.
