Job Title: Commercial Department Estimator

Location: West Midlands

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for calculating the costs associated with building projects, ensuring accurate estimates for materials, labor, and equipment. This role requires strong mathematical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and review architectural drawings, plans, and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.

  • Conduct site visits to gather essential information and assess project requirements.

  • Analyze data and produce forecasts for project costs.

  • Perform risk analysis and prepare detailed reports or bids for submission.

  • Foster relationships with key vendors, subcontractors, and architects.

  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and new materials that could affect costs.

  • Prepare and present cost reports and forecasts to project managers and stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as anestimator.

  • Basic understanding of accounting and project management concepts.

  • Deep understanding of research methodology, data analysis, and estimation metrics.

  • Comfortable with numbers and technology.

  • Great attention to detail and excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
