Site Manager

Salary: GR4

Position: Full-time, Permanent

City of Birmingham School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to oversee the management and maintenance of three out of our eight campuses. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety, security, and operational efficiency of our school estate, including all buildings and associated premises.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure and improve security systems, act as the principal key holder, and respond to emergencies outside normal working hours.
  • Manage lighting, heating, and the overall condition of the school fabric. Coordinate repair and maintenance work, and oversee the work of external contractors.
  • Support the School Business Manager in health and safety coordination, oversee fire safety equipment, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Maintain records, conduct safety audits, and manage energy control and conservation.
  • Supervise the receipt and distribution of goods, manage the movement of furniture, and ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of the premises.
  • Supervision of Building Site Supervisors, Building Site Managers and Cleaners

Essential Criteria

  • Previous experience in a caretaking or similar environment.
  • Experience managing a budget and working in a position of trust.
  • Knowledge of health and safety procedures, including COSHH and risk assessment.
  • Strong organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and supervise others.
  • Administrative skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
