Are you an experienced Design Manager looking to take on high-profile projects with a leading Tier 1 contractor?

We're working on behalf of a prestigious Tier 1 construction contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex projects up to £100m in value across a variety of sectors, including commercial, residential, healthcare, and education. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced Design Manager to join their dynamic Birmingham-based team.

As a Design Manager, you'll be responsible for leading the design process from pre-construction through to project completion. You'll collaborate closely with internal teams, clients, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure design solutions are innovative, cost-effective, and delivered to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the design process through pre-construction and delivery stages
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
• Review and approve design documentation, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regulations
• Mitigate design risks and resolve technical issues
• Ensure project deadlines and budgets are met
• Support bid and tender processes with innovative design solutions

• Proven experience as a Design Manager working on major construction projects (ideally up to £100m)
• Background with a Tier 1 contractor is highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, design standards, and construction processes
• Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills
• Relevant degree in architecture, engineering, or construction-related discipline

• Competitive salary between £55,000 - £75,000 (depending on experience)
