Are you passionate about Retrofit and looking for a Senior level position within the sector? I am looking for a Head of Retrofit to join a housing association in the West Midlands. The Head of Retrofit will be primarily responsible for leading the future investment and modernisation programmes for the housing portfolio whilst taking personal responsibility for leading the management of main contractors. This role requires a basic DBS and other background checks.Head of Retrofit responsibilities:
  • Plan, organise, manage, and deliver the Modernisation, Energy, and Retrofit programs effectively.
  • Lead the transition of the modernisation pilot to a standard program by identifying opportunities, addressing risks, and implementing financial controls.
  • Ensure the successful completion of projects funded externally, including the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund.
  • Provide performance reports to assure the Executive Board successful progress and KPI achievement.
  • Introduce new working methods to enhance tenant services and boost business efficiency, focusing on productivity, cost control, and customer experience.
  • Lead the management of the main contractors, ensuring the successful delivery of various grouped and individual work streams.
  • Define and implement contract management processes, including the development of contractor KPI's, ensuring service review meetings are conducted regularly with all contractors.
  • Collaborate with the Property Investment Management Team to maintain the Repairs and Maintenance risk register, to identify, log and mitigate risks.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of organisational risk registers, taking ownership of assigned risks, managing, and providing regular updates on mitigating actions.
What is required for the role:
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent technical level of expertise demonstrated through work experience achievements / outcomes.
  • Level 5 Housing Management qualification or a willingness to work towards
  • Relevant training/qualification in an energy/retrofit related discipline and/or extensive work experience in a delivery of multifaceted construction works.
  • The ability to analyse, manipulate and process complex data sets to formulate mobilisation plans
  • Expertise in planning, executing, and overseeing large-scale investment programmes, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
