Project Manager
Location: Birmingham
Salary: Competitive
Hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 07.30-16.00, Friday 07.30-12.30
In order to meet the company’s ambitious growth targets, they are looking for a Project Manager to join their team.
The purpose of the role is to manage key design, development and manufacturing projects from bid to completion within agreed time, cost and performance targets and to manage and develop the customer relationships on assigned projects.
The Role
- Providing project management support through scheduling, task planning, team organisation, development of budgets/financial models and preparation of other supporting documentation as required.
- To be the primary customer contact for assigned projects
- Successfully manage assigned projects for a business stream achieving customer requirements along with meeting the business goals of schedule, quality, cost, risk management
- Maximise opportunities to win new or follow-on business and prepare Bid information
- Monitor project performance against plan and identify appropriate corrective actions by conducting periodic cost, schedule, performance and risk reviews
- Identify and secure the required resources to successfully execute project
- Manage all customer interfaces and communicate effectively to senior management team members and peers to establish a common understanding of project scope and plan for successful project execution
- Prepare and present project status reports to key stakeholders on a regular basis
- Carry out any other duties as reasonably required
Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge and practical experience of best practice in Project Management techniques
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent team working skills
- Eligible to obtain UK security clearance to SC level
- Microsoft project & Microsoft word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Educated to a minimum of HNC standard or equivalent
- Engineering or Technical background / understanding
- Associate member of APM (Association of Project Managers)
