Renowned for delivering excellence across a variety of sectors, this organisation is seeking a professional with strong expertise in the new Building Regulations.

The Principal Designer Role

The successful Principal Designer will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with the new Building Regulations and delivering exceptional CDM services. This position offers the chance to work across diverse sectors including residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects, managing complex design and construction challenges.

Principal Designer Key Responsibilities

  • Acting as Principal Designer in line with CDM 2015 and the latest Building Safety Act.
  • Advising clients and design teams on compliance with the new Building Regulations.
  • Leading risk management processes and ensuring hazard mitigation throughout project lifecycles.
  • Reviewing pre-construction information (PCI) and managing construction phase plans (CPP).
  • Facilitating design team workshops, risk review meetings, and producing detailed documentation, including F10 notifications.

This role is ideal for a driven professional eager to apply their expertise in Building Regulations to a broad portfolio of projects, while enjoying the flexibility of a remote-working environment.

The Principal Designer will have

  • Extensive experience delivering Principal Designer services under CDM 2015.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the new Building Regulations and the Building Safety Act.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualifications.
  • Membership with IOSH or APS (preferred).
  • A background in construction, architecture, or engineering.
  • Strong communication skills with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
