Fire Safety Manager required for a Midlands based organisation who operate in the rail / transport sector

Client Details

Fire Safety Manager required for a Midlands based transportation / rail company to oversee a property portfolio consisting of office premises, stations & depots.

Description

  • Work with key internal stakeholders such as Occupational Safety, Property, Fleet, Environmental
  • Develop and implement a Fire Safety Strategy
  • Support internal and third-party projects
  • Engage with Property Project Managers, Health, Safety & Compliance Manager and Project Managers.
  • Plan and conduct fire risk assessment surveys and prepare reports on findings.
  • Liaise with and oversee the completion of corrective actions and findings from fire risk assessment reports,
  • Provide in-house Fire Prevention Manager (Fire Marshall) training to employees
  • Provide expert advice and support to develop arrangements relating to the management of emergencies from fires.
  • Other reasonable duties as specified by the Head of Occupational Safety

Profile

  • Experience in a similar role - ideally within the rail / transport system
  • Membership of an appropriate Fire safety Engineering Institution (preferred)
  • BSc or BEng in Fire Safety management
  • Excellent knowledge of UK relevant Fire Safety Legislation and British Standards.
  • Experience of working in a highly regulated environment
  • Effective communicator at all levels of the organisation; stakeholder management
  • Excellent analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to project manage tasks from inception to completion
