An enthusiastic and experienced Site Assistant is sought for a secondary school in east of Birmingham - part of a West Midlands based multi-academy trust.

Working in a team of three, the Site Assistant will support the Site Manager in the estate management programme for the school including premises, facilities, health and safety, contract management and capital works.

The Site Assistant duties will include:

  • Weekly maintenance tasks, conducting minor projects around school and reactive works in case of accidents or emergencies.
  • Conducting regular health & safety checks, cleaning duties and minor maintenance and repairs.
  • DIY tasks including painting and decorating, plumbing and minor building work.
  • Porterage - setting up and clearing away furniture
  • All tasks contributing to the safety and security of children, staff and visitors
  • To supervise community use of the building which may require working out of school hours.

The Site Assistant will hold a professional qualification in Health & Safety such as IOSH, together with a clean driving licence. Excellent interpersonal skills and a track record of establishing and promoting effective working relationships is essential coupled with practical skills in carpentry, plumbing or painting & decorating.

Hours of work: 7.00am - 3.30pm

Interviews on Friday 17th January 2025.
