Think Construction are pleased to have been instructed by a leading main construction contractor to find a Contracts Manager to join their experienced operational team. This role offers an opportunity to join a brilliant senior team who are dedicated to delivering projects to an exceptional standard, who look after their people well and create opportunities for progression.
The company
Our client is an established construction contractor in the Midlands with a current turnover of 500 million. They have strong pipeline of work secured and the sectors they work in include:
Student Accommodation, High rise residential apartments and hotel sectors and projects range from 15m- 50m in refurbishment and new build schemes.
The role
As an experienced Constructs Manager, you will be based out of the Birmingham office and will be responsible managing up to 3 sites in the Midlands area. Other responsibilities include:
- Oversee Project Managers that are tasked with overseeing the operational management of various new build & refurbishment projects up to the value of 10m.
- Take ownership for Health & Safety and Environment responsibility.
- Work closely with the pre-construction team on; SHE, Build ability and programme issues and review and comment on design information issues by both consultants and suppliers.
- Work closely with the Site Management team on each site to ensure that things run smoothly - an effective communicator is essential.
- Manage projects in line with the agreed finance and production targets and reports.
- Have key client-facing responsibility

You will be an end to end experienced contracts manager with excellent people manager skills and will have a hands-on-style and be able to interact well with others. You will come from a main construction contractor background with multi-site experience and have worked ideally worked on proejcts over 15m in the sectors mentioned above. They are looking for committed, ambitious individuals with exceptional delivery standards, who can communicate effectively across site, and with all stakeholders.
