My client is an established Regional Main Contractor in Birmingham specialising in Education, Industrial, Leisure, Retail and the Public sector with projects valued up to 9m. With continued growth they are now looking for recruit a Contracts Manager to strengthen their Operations Team in the West Midlands.
Reporting into the Ops Director, the Contracts Manager will be responsible for the control and management of multiple projects and site teams, have exceptional Client-facing ability and a strong New Build and Refurb background.
Responsibilities include:
- Development of the procurement programme.
- Presentation of the contract brief to the Client.
- Selection and formation of Site Teams and Subcontractors for each project.
- Management of resources, Site Teams and work programmes to ensure agreed requirements for each project.
- Commercial control for each project.
- Management of progress towards completion and reporting into Director and Client.
- Ensuring accurate reporting within agreed time frames including contract documentation.
Successful candidates will possess:
- Exceptional communication skills (both oral and written).
- Understanding of current Construction methodology and Health & Safety regulations.
- IT proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook).
- Experience of working to tight deadlines and a keen eye for detail.
- Commercially awareness.
- Ability to lead Project Teams and mentor/train Junior Staff member
- Previous experience as a Contracts Manager or a Project Manager ready for the next step
