Leading Tier 2, 100-year-old + building contractor is looking for a Senior Contracts Manager to progress quickly into a Contracts Director role for their Midlands region. Promotion could be anywhere between 6 months to 18 months - very much dependant on the candidate. On offer is an attractive basic salary and package, as well as next steps promotion.
Duties:
In this company, a senior contracts manager will take the overall strategic lead. client liaison and troubleshooting role on 2/3 20m-30m projects. Typically, 1 at the early stages, i in build (1/3 way through) and 1 at the tail end.
The Senior Contracts Manager will be responsible for ensuring the client and project reports get issued on time, review the project board packs prior to sending on to the directors, making sure the sites are running as they should and safety and quality standards are being adhered to. Provide advice to the team on contractual disputes and help the team by mentoring and coaching where necessary.

The role is to work for the Midlands region of a national contractor, with site locations ranging from Birmingham, Bath, Bristol, Oxford and Chester (some example jobs as follows)@

What does the client look for in a person/CV?
Time spent with previous employers, and recently in a contracts manager role
Previous responsibility and accountability for projects ranging from 10m - 30m
Experience on D&B contracts
NOT interested in candidates from a Tier 1 background.
Can do mentality, a problem solver.
Solutions based: someone who will report back that to the client that there has been an obstacle, inform them how we've overcome it and demonstrate what we've done about it.
