Up to 61,140 per annum, depending on experience

We are seeking a Technical Assurance Auditor to ensure that Technical Assurance Reviews (TARs) are consistently and effectively conducted across one or more Integrated Project Teams (IPTs). This role is crucial in maintaining compliance with technical assurance processes, driving continuous improvement, and supporting risk management initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • TAR Preparation and Execution: Create TAR references, prepare question sets, and manage documentation within relevant systems. Lead TAR sessions, identifying findings such as Observations and Corrective Action Requests (CARs), and compile comprehensive reports.
  • Programme Management: Develop and manage the annual TAR programme, ensuring reviews are appropriately scheduled and targeted based on risk and performance insights. Collaborate with subject matter experts to prioritise and plan review areas.
  • Process Consistency and Improvement: Ensure the consistent application of technical assurance processes across contracts. Provide feedback to policy owners to refine and improve technical processes, ensuring they remain effective and fit for purpose.
  • Performance Reporting: Collate and present data on TAR performance, highlighting trends and areas for improvement. Use findings to support organisational risk management and decision-making.
  • Collaboration: Work across departments such as BIM, project management, and configuration teams to support integrated delivery and promote best practices.
  • EDI Commitment: Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in all activities, in line with organisational policies.

Skills & Experience

Skills:

  • Strong process management and reporting skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and improve operational processes.
  • Effective communication and coordination between internal teams and contractors.
  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting using digital tools.

Knowledge:

  • Sound understanding of technical assurance principles, including interface management, configuration, risk management, and change control.
  • Knowledge of the CDM Regulations 2015 and European Common Safety Methods.
  • IRCA-certified Lead Auditor (ISO 9001:2015).
  • Chartered professional status is desirable.

Experience:

  • Experience implementing quality and assurance frameworks on large infrastructure projects.
  • Technical background with experience working alongside contractors and design teams.
  • Familiarity with multidisciplinary programmes, including civil engineering, rail systems, and rolling stock.
