On behalf of our client, we are seeking a knowledgeable Director of Learning and Development with a proven history in both strategic and operational L&D/Talent implementation within a large, global matrix organisational structure. This unique opportunity will allow the successful candidate to shape the strategic Learning & Development agenda for the business while also being heavily involved in the execution of leadership development programmes.

The role involves leading a small team responsible for Learning and Leadership Development across the organisation.

What you'll do:

As a Director of Learning & Development, you will be at the forefront of shaping the strategic learning and development agenda for our client's business. You will lead a team of Learning & Development Partners who are committed to delivering top-notch talent, leadership development programmes, professional development, and talent & succession planning. Your role will involve managing external training providers to ensure that all training modules are tailored to meet the specific needs of the business. You will also be instrumental in designing learning events that foster collaboration and enhance the capabilities of senior talent across the organisation. Furthermore, you will play a pivotal role in identifying areas where the business can build its future capabilities.

  • Plan, design and execute the Learning & Development Strategy across a global remit
  • Lead a team of Learning & Development Partners to deliver Leadership development programmes
  • Manage external training providers to support the delivery of the overall learning strategy
  • Design and deliver learning events to drive collaboration and increase capability of senior talent across the business
  • Plan, consult, develop and deliver senior leadership development programmes for strategic leaders
  • Identify clear ways to recognise how and where the business can build capability for the future
  • Lead a team of L&D professionals strategically and operationally to drive continuous improvement/success.
  • Collaborate with the wider HR function to drive consistency and support the wider HR agenda
