Role Summary

The role is that of a Probate Case Officer, a dedicated contact within an Estate, to administer around 25 deceased cases under the terms of the Will or Intestacy, in all aspects, including building relationships with beneficiaries, under the supervision of an Estates Manager.

Core Duties/Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • The administration of around 35 deceased cases
  • Handling day to day case tasks and queries and progressing the cases with all aspects of Estate administration from initial enquiries, applying for the Grant of Probate, to finalisation of the Estate and accounting to the beneficiaries for their entitlement
  • Dealing with associated inheritance, income and capital gains tax
  • Building and maintaining relationships with the beneficiaries through regular contact by post, e-mail and telephone calls
  • Complying with business objectives, client service level standards, process and procedures and managing risk
  • Administration and some Banking processes (with support)

  • Estate Administration experience
  • A strong team player and quick learner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Positive, enthusiastic and supportive of others
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Microsoft Office skill
  • Highly organised and consistent high level performer
  • STEP or ILEX qualifications (would be an advantage) or a commitment to undertake these qualifications
