Location: Hybrid – Fort Dunlop in Birmingham or Phoenix Place in Basildon

Job Purpose, Tasks and Responsibilities

Within the role you are responsible for reducing debt, handling queries, and ensuring that company polices are adhered to!

You will be responsible for:

  • Credit Control & Payment Collection: Proactively contacting customers via phone and email to collect payments, working towards challenging cash collection targets.
  • Account Management & Reconciliation: Reconciling customer accounts, managing withholding tax and exchange rate differences, accurately identifying and allocating incoming cash, and initiating refunds for credit balances when necessary.
  • Customer Queries & Issue Resolution: Handle and resolve customer account queries, ensuring that the issue tracking system is kept up to date, while maintaining clear and concise notes in the credit control system.
  • Risk Management & Escalation: Identify potential bad debts, escalate them to management for further action, and manage ledger balances and relationships with business clients.
  • Reporting & Strategic Improvement: Performing month-end reporting duties, participating in regular discussions on process improvements and strategies, and attending group meetings, with occasional travel as needed.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have / be:

  • Experience in B2B and B2C credit control including reducing DSO and ledger balances.
  • Minimum GCSE English and Maths grade C.
  • Intermediate Excel and Word including vlookups.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Able to accept and encourage evolving processes.
  • Time management and organisational skills.

To be successful in this role, it would be great if you have:

  • Experience of using Business Central and Salesforce would be an advantage.
