This role goes beyond managing transactions; it involves building and maintaining robust relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients. As the Credit Controller, you'll implement and follow Cash Collections procedures to ensure appropriate actions against defaulting accounts. This includes closely monitoring account statuses, conducting risk assessments, and engaging directly with clients to negotiate payment plans or settlements, minimising aged debt while maintaining high customer service standards.

Skills required: 

  • Previous experience in a similar role, you must have a solid background in managing collections and credit control environments. This includes a thorough understanding of handling purchase orders and effectively resolving disputes, ensuring that financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.
  • The ability to build and maintain professional relationships is crucial. You should possess strong interpersonal skills, allowing you to interact effectively with both internal stakeholders and external clients. Additionally, your communication and negotiation skills should be top-notch, enabling you to address and resolve issues diplomatically and successfully.
  • While an ICM qualification or equivalent is highly desirable, it is not mandatory. More important is your commitment to continuous professional development and your eagerness to stay updated with industry practices, which will aid in your performance and adaptability in this dynamic role.
