Cyber Consultant

Join a prestigious central government department as a Cyber Consultant, where you will be instrumental in a significant transformation project. This role offers the opportunity to work within a dynamic team, focusing on migrating from Google Suite to M365 and managing multiple workstreams.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Risk Management: Document and manage risks across SAAS platforms aligned with the NIST framework.
  • Security Assurance: Complete Cyber Assessment Frameworks (CAF) for various projects, create clear remediation plans, and guide the business on applying mitigations.
  • Security Advisory: Review High-Level Designs and solutions from a security perspective, ensuring all security advice is thoroughly documented.
  • Risk Backlog Management: Manage a backlog of cyber risks, collaborate with the business to reduce these risks, and identify trends that require escalation.
  • Risk Acceptance: Own the risk acceptance process, ensuring all decisions are well-documented and communicated effectively in clear non-technical business language.
  • CAB Representation: Attend Change Advisory Board (CAB) and Technical Design Authority (TDA) meetings, representing the security team.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Good understanding of cyber industry best practices.
  • Experience with migration projects, preferably involving Google Suite to M365.
  • Proven ability in playing an advisory role on multiple workstreams.
  • Knowledge of cyber compliance.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
