Job Purpose, Tasks, and Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Engaging in a collaborative and imaginative exchange with the Brand Design Manager to discover the most compelling narrative for given campaigns.
  • Collaborating closely with stakeholders and creatively contribute to concepts and campaigns.
  • Upholding Design Language and brand identity considerations across all ICA published materials.
  • Creating visual concepts and developing design ideas that effectively answer a brief, communicate a message and convey ICA’s brand identity.
  • Marking up and/or preparing signed-off artwork for different mediums, such as print or digital delivery ensuring files meet outlined technical specifications and are optimised for their intended output.
  • Working as part of a team and collaborating with clients, copywriters, marketing professionals, and other stakeholders.
  • Prioritising tasks, handling multiple projects simultaneously, and allocate time for revisions, client feedback, and iterations to ensure timely delivery of high-quality designs.
  • Working independently with confidence and under own initiative as required.
  • Keeping up to date with industry developments, exploring and learning new tools and techniques, and adapting skills accordingly to deliver innovative and contemporary designs.

This role will give you the opportunity to work with experienced designers and gain experience in the field. You will be able to be creative and have exposure working with multiple stakeholders such as the project and marketing teams.

What’s the Most Challenging Thing About This Role?

You will be working on multiple projects so being able to prioritise and work to deadlines is an important element of the role. You will be dealing with client briefs and feedback and attention to detail will be needed regularly when carrying out your own work and checking others with in the team.

What We’re Looking For

To be successful in this role, you must have the ability to have:

  • A strong sense of creativity, artistic flair, design and artworking skills ensuring unique, effective and visually appealing designs.
  • Attention to detail and quality control are crucial in ensuring accurate, precise, and consistent results.
  • Hands on design skills across multiple channels.
  • Fluency with Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Critical thinking, possessing the skills to analyse problems, evaluate design solutions, and make informed decisions about layout, colour, typography, and other design elements.
  • Ability to ideate, conceptualise and take a brief from inception to completion.
  • Accessibility aware across all areas of design.
  • Good time management skills with the ability to prioritise and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

To be successful in this role, it would be great if you have:

  • Experience with workflow management tools such as JIRA, Tempo or Kantata.
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop
  • Experienced in the use of Digital Asset Management systems.
  • Some experience with pitching ideas to stakeholders with an ability to analyse, question and challenge.
  • An understanding of accessibility design requirements and application.
  • A keen interest in all areas of graphic design with a watchful eye on design trends and industry developments.
  • Adaptable and open to learning new techniques, tools, and design trends to stay relevant and meet evolving stakeholder needs.
  • Experience in the same or similar role
  • Experience working with Marketing and Events departments
  • Familiarity with designing social media posts
