Zest Education are recruiting a hardworking Teaching Assistant to work on a 1:1 basis at a school located in Bournville. You will be required to work full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am till 3:30pm, providing learning and care support to a specific student in Year 3. This role is due to start in November and is ongoing, providing you with the opportunity to build a long-lasting relationship with a school. As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will work with the class teacher to plan and deliver learning activities that supports the student with routines, transitions and behaviour management.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Support the students with their social, emotional and academic development.
  • Promote high standards of behaviour.
  • Adapt communication styles to respond to students according to their individual needs.
  • Assist with the development and delivery of individual education and support plans.
  • Build positive relationships with staff and students, promoting independence and self-esteem.
  • Provide regular feedback to teachers on pupil progress, achievements and behaviour.

You must have:

  • Relevant experience in an education-based setting or in a 1:1 role.
  • Good knowledge of how to adapt and deliver support to individual needs.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills as well as active listening skills.
  • An enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.
  • Commitment and dedication to the role of working with children.
