SEN Teaching Assistant - Handsworth

Academics are working with a SEN school based in Handsworth who are seeking for a long term Teaching Assistant to join them as soon as possible until the end of the academic year.

This is a 1:1 position and the child will need support with speech and language throughout the day, they also have Autism so experience of working with Autistic children will be an advantage. You will be assisting the Teacher along with playground duties at times. It would be ideal if you possess Team Teach but it's not essential for the position.

If you have experience working with Speech and Language, ASD, EBD, ADHD and Behavioural children then this could be the ideal opportunity for you!

THIS IS AN IMMEDIATE START AND A FULL TIME POSITION

The ideal candidate:

  • Eligibility to work in the UK and hold a NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • Extensive experience in working with SEN children
  • Providing a safe and stimulating environment for children
  • Promote positive behaviour
  • Sensitive towards children's individual learning abilities and able to boost self esteem
  • Work well with colleagues and support the classroom Teacher
  • Committed to the learning and development of pupils within their care
  • Develop and promote positive relationships
  • Prepare and maintain the learning environment
