Long Term Futures is looking for a dedicated Interventions Teaching Assistant to join our partner primary school in Small Heath. This fulfilling role offers the chance to positively impact young learners by delivering targeted interventions aimed at helping them meet age-related expectations. The position is full-time, with the potential to transition from a long-term placement into a permanent role for the right candidate.

As part of this role, you will be expected to:

  • Prepare and modify teaching resources and materials to meet the diverse learning needs of pupils.
  • Support the teacher in planning and delivering lessons, organising equipment, and ensuring the classroom remains an engaging and structured environment.
  • Deliver focused interventions to enhance students' academic achievement and wellbeing.
  • Provide support for children with SEN, including one-to-one assistance and leading small group sessions in and out of the classroom.
  • Organise enjoyable and interactive activities to promote social interaction and inclusivity among all pupils.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or an equivalent degree.
  • Have at least one year of experience supporting primary school pupils, ideally in Early Years or Key Stage 1.
  • Show a strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
  • Skilled in delivering both group and one-to-one phonics interventions effectively.
