Interventions Teaching Assistant - Year 6 SATs Support

Location: Rubery, Birmingham (B45)

Pay: Daily rate - 90-105

Contract Type: Temporary, with potential for extension

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Start Date: ASAP

About the Role

Long Term Futures are seeking a dedicated and motivated Interventions Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rubery, Birmingham. In this role, you will provide targeted SATs interventions and work closely with Year 6 pupils to support their academic progress and boost their confidence ahead of their exams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver focused SATs intervention sessions in English and Maths to small groups and individual pupils.
  • Support the class teacher in identifying areas where pupils require additional support.
  • Track and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teaching team.
  • Develop and adapt learning resources to meet the needs of individual learners.
  • Maintain a positive and engaging learning environment, promoting a growth mindset.
  • Encourage and motivate pupils to achieve their best potential in preparation for their SATs.

Candidate Requirements

  • Minimum of one year's experience working as a Teaching Assistant, within Key Stage 2.
  • Experience delivering interventions or small group support, particularly for SATs preparation.
  • A good understanding of the Year 6 curriculum and SATs requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting children's learning.
  • A commitment to the wellbeing and academic success of every pupil.
