Long Term Futures is seeking a passionate and proactive teaching assistant to support KS1 pupils at a primary school in Hawkesley. This long-term role offers the potential to become a permanent position for the right candidate.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Support pupils in developing core skills in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing valuable feedback to the teacher and parents as required.
  • Promote positive behaviour and address challenges in line with school policies.
  • Offer emotional and social support to help build pupils' confidence and self-esteem.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to support the needs of SEN and EAL pupils effectively.

What we are looking for:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or an equivalent certification.
  • Have at least one year of experience working within a primary school setting.
  • Demonstrated ability to support children with SEN and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection guidelines.
  • Experience with various behaviour management strategies to encourage positive outcomes.
