We are currently seeking a motivated and resilient Male SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated team of professionals who are passionate about helping vulnerable young people thrive in both classroom and practical settings. You will play a key role in helping students with SEMH and additional needs, ensuring they have access to a tailored and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the teaching and learning of students with SEMH needs, ensuring their engagement and progress.
  • Assisting in practical and classroom-based activities, particularly in Physical Education (PE) and vocational sessions.
  • Collaborating with teachers to deliver creative, differentiated support that integrates Functional Skills.
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive, and motivating environment where students feel supported both academically and emotionally.
  • Building strong relationships with students, staff, and external professionals to foster a collaborative learning experience.

The successful SEMH Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Experience working with children and young people with SEMH needs, ADHD, or other additional needs.
  • A strong understanding of behaviour management techniques to engage and support students with challenging behaviour.
  • A passion for helping vulnerable students achieve their full potential in both academic and practical activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people and colleagues.
  • The ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
