Are you a Pastoral Interventions Teaching Assistant looking to make a meaningful difference? Join an Ofsted-rated Good Primary School in Quinton, where you'll help pupils overcome barriers to learning in a supportive and nurturing environment. This rewarding role offers the chance to work 1:1 and with small groups, ensuring every child can thrive.

This role is to start in January and continue until the end of the academic year, you will be working 8:30am - 3:30pm.

As a Pastoral Interventions Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support a caseload of pupils who face barriers to learning, including disengagement and demotivation.
  • Deliver interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis, tailored to each child's needs.
  • Work closely with parents and external agencies to ensure holistic support for pupils.
  • Use Emotional Coaching and Trauma-Informed practices to foster resilience and positive relationships.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to contribute to the pastoral care strategy.
  • Keep accurate, IT-based records linked to pupil progress and caseloads.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Recent experience supporting children with additional needs, including ASD and Autism.
  • Knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Trauma-Informed Attachment Awareness Schools (TIAAS), and Emotional Coaching.
  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or above).
  • Experience delivering pastoral interventions to children.
  • Strong IT skills for caseload paperwork and documentation.
