This role is to start in January and continue until the end of the academic year, you will be working 8:30am - 3:30pm.
As a Pastoral Interventions Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support a caseload of pupils who face barriers to learning, including disengagement and demotivation.
- Deliver interventions on a 1:1 and small group basis, tailored to each child's needs.
- Work closely with parents and external agencies to ensure holistic support for pupils.
- Use Emotional Coaching and Trauma-Informed practices to foster resilience and positive relationships.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to contribute to the pastoral care strategy.
- Keep accurate, IT-based records linked to pupil progress and caseloads.
Required Skills and Experience
- Recent experience supporting children with additional needs, including ASD and Autism.
- Knowledge of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), Trauma-Informed Attachment Awareness Schools (TIAAS), and Emotional Coaching.
- A Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (or above).
- Experience delivering pastoral interventions to children.
- Strong IT skills for caseload paperwork and documentation.
