We are requiring a SEMH Teaching assistant to join us at a modern primary academy!

Long Term Futures are searching for a caring and nurturing SEMH teaching assistant to join our modern well-funded primary academies in the Rubery area.

The Role:

You will be responsible for supporting the teaching & learning of a child in Year Three with SEMH needs, the child requires 1:1 support needing someone with strong behaviour management techniques and someone who can be both supportive and gentle emotionally but firm on expectations and boundaries. The role is relationship based and aim is to reintegrate the child into the classroom.

  • Supportive Senior Leadership Team.

The Ideal candidate:

  • Experience supporting pupils with complex SEMH & SEN
  • Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 12 months' experience in an educational establishment.
  • Strong behaviour management techniques
  • Team Teach or Positive Handling Qualification (Desirable)
  • Experience in working with supporting students in their education on a 1:1 basis.
  • Knowledge of the UK primary curriculum.
  • A calm, patient, and caring persona.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines.
