Prospero Teaching are seeking a dynamic, hardworking and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Acocks Green, Birmingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support and assistance to teachers and students in the classroom, as well as providing additional help to students with special educational needs. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in the classroom by preparing teaching material, setting up activities and helping to maintain a safe and secure learning environment.
  • Provide one-on-one assistance to students with special educational needs.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of learning plans and progress reports.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Facilitate positive behaviour in the classroom.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents and staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and behaviour.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience of working with SEND children (does not necessarily need to have been in a school environment)
  • Min of a level 2 CACHE
  • A passion for working with children who have additional needs
