SEND Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 4Are you a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant looking for an opportunity to support students with complex needs? A well-regarded special school in South Birmingham, rated "Good" by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team and support a Key Stage 4 class.This school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for students with a range of additional needs, including Autism, Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties, and Communication Needs. You will be part of a highly supportive team that works together to ensure students receive the best possible education and care.Job Role:
  • Providing one-to-one and small group support to Key Stage 4 students with SEND
  • Assisting the teacher in delivering tailored lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Supporting students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation
  • Adapting learning materials and activities to ensure accessibility for all students
  • Helping to create a positive and structured learning environment
  • Working closely with the SENCO, teachers, and other support staff to promote student progress
Requirements:
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with children with SEND, particularly in a special school setting
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students with complex needs
  • Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to de-escalate challenging situations
  • A commitment to inclusion and a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
