Long Term Futures Recruitment is delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in B66, Birmingham. This role involves supporting students across resource bases, helping them to reach their full potential in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Start: February 2025

Location: B66, Birmingham

Daily Rate: £95 - £105

Days: Full Time, Monday - Friday, Term Time Only

Hours: 8:30am - 3:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide bespoke support for students with special educational needs within resource bases.
  • Adapt learning activities to suit individual requirements, ensuring every pupil can effectively access the curriculum.
  • Deliver targeted interventions, such as phonics and reading, to support pupil progress.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families to foster an inclusive and collaborative learning environment.
  • Provide focused support to pupils with additional needs, including Autism (ASD) and ADHD, through one-to-one and small group sessions.
  • Work closely with the teaching team to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) effectively.

Requirements:

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or degree.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting, particularly with children who have SEND.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with pupils and staff.
  • A patient, adaptable approach and the ability to respond flexibly to pupil needs.
